The Garment

New long-sleeved velvet dress, embellished with recycled lace and black beads.
95% polyester, 5% spandex. Original New Collection brand.


Alterations Made

Recycled cotton lace was added to the bodice and hem, decorated with black beads. The original plastic buttons were replaced with black glass buttons.
Although this item is new and had its original tag, it has been through the cleaning process so that the lace would darken with the dye from the velvet (see Care Guide below) and is now ready to wear.

Care Guide

- Let it air out, preferably outdoors, if not dirty;
- Wash inside out in cold water (max. 30°) with soft fabrics on the delicate cycle with full load (to prevent friction between fabrics and reduce the release of microplastics);
- Use an appropriate bag to collect the microplastics released by the synthetic fibres;
- Dry inside out;
- Do not use a dryer;
- Do not wash with rough fabrics (e.g., denim);
- Do not wash with light-colored clothes;
- Do not iron.
Following these instructions will help the garment last much longer and maintain its integrity, in addition to being environmentally friendly practices.

 

A Note on Goodbye

When your item reaches the end of its useful life, please dispose of it in the appropriate recycling bin. If you prefer, I’d be happy to take it back at Faceless Queen—just contact me before shipping it.
